FAT DEPOSITS

Fat deposits in the face and neck can be problematic for many people. Although we need fat in our face to give us a fuller, more youthful-looking face. Too much fat in certain areas will start to change to the shape of your face and neck and will make you look bulkier or older.

Typically fat starts to build up in the lower face and neck as well as around the jaw.

Causes

There are two main causes of these fat buildups. Most commonly it is due to weight gain. Some bodies naturally store fat in the lower face and neck, while other bodies have the fat in other areas.

Aging is another reason for the change in the location of fat in the face, even if there is no weight gain. The loosening of our tissues as well as the hormonal changes that we experience with age causes the fat sacks in the lower face to become more obvious.

Treatments

Mild: There are some very effective non-invasive treatments available to you:

  • Exilis uses the power of Radio Frequency to make your fat cells release the fats from within, where your body then consumes it as energy.

  • Endermolift By LPG may also be used to eliminate fat and water retention from the areas you desire.

  • Ultherapy can be used to lift, tighten and reduce the fat and tissue in the lower face.

Medium: Semi-invasive treatments may be recommended by our consultants:

  • Mesotherapy is injected into the area with special fat-fighting chemicals that liquefy and eliminate the excess fat.

  • Threads may also be used when there is more excess skin and fat to lift the drooping areas.

Severe: In these cases, it might be a better option to go for:

  • Ultrasound-assisted liposuction or laser-assisted liposuction to remove the excess fat that other treatments may not be able to get rid of.

  • Mini facelift or tuck may also be necessary in some cases.
